The shifts in healthcare are like new admissions: they’re always coming.
If you can’t roll with the changes that inevitably arrive then the feeling of overwhelm will suffocate you. Nurses are the greatest innovators. “Learn as you go” is constantly echoed from the seasoned veterans to the newest arrivals.
One ten-minute in-service is enough, right? Nurses don’t have more than ten minutes to spend away from their patients. And they certainly won’t be spotted on the unit on a day off. So, ten minutes is it- you have ten minutes to adapt to the change.
